New Bell City, Beachfront
It was raining cats and dogs. To the point that each drop hurt, like tiny pebbles being thrown at me. I was laying on the ground, basically drowning in rain, mud, and my own blood.
I was basically slithering across the ground, I could only move one leg, and both of my arms were busted.
Over the sound of the rain and thunder, I could here the boots splashing in puddles of the men who were after me. They were close behind, right on my ass. I needed to stand.
I was in an alley-way, disgusting, and vacant. I'm pretty sure that some of this mud was shit. There was a trash can next to me, I grabbed onto the lid with my slightly less fucked up hand. I attempted to pull myself up.
But, instead, the lid flew off, and the trash can tipped over. I fell back to the ground, now on my back. I looked down to my chest, two large tears in the two breastplates of my suit. They hurt the worse, and the crawling through mud part didn't help at all. It was like putting salt on a burn.
"You're gonna die out here," K said.
He was sitting on that same trashcan I attempted to help myself up on. Per usual, he had a smile on his gray, scarred face. His sharp, yellow teeth seemed to glow in the dark. He wore what looked like a Japanese school uniform. His big, yellow, beety eyes stared me down. He had a black slit for pupils, and a red iris, along with no eyelids, so his eyes were always open. His hair was blue, and spiked out in just about ever direction. He had spins poking out of his left shoulder, and he had claws on that same hand.
K licked his lips, "didn't think it'd be like this, kiddo."
"Fuck... you," I gasped.
I began coughing up water and blood.
"All you have to do is say one word, and I can make it all go away,"
I know what he wants, and I'm not gonna give it to him. I looked to my sword, laying on the ground beside me. He's trapped in there, and only I can see him. But if I give him what he wants, if I give him freedom. Who knows what he'll do.
"Listen kid, you're only eighteen. Are you ready to die already? C'mon man, you got a good job, a nice woman, and fucking super powers. You're ready to give all that up?!" K yelled.
"No," I mumbled.
"Then say it!"
We sat in silence.

"I heard you're the best in the business," she said.
"I just opened like a month ago," I responded.
"Then that should say something," she held the papers in front of me again.
I scratched my head, I took the vanilla envelop from her hand. I opened it up, someone had been stealing from her father's company. This is a cop's job, not mine. I have better things to do than this shit.
"Go ask the cops," I said, handing back the envelop.
"I already did, they said there was nothing they could do,"
"Whatever. Fine, I'll do it, but it'll cost ya,"
"Dude, I'm rich, I can pay you whatever you want,"
"I want a billion dollars and a castle," I said.
She just stared at me.
"That was a joke," I added. "We'll talk about money once the job is done, that's how I role. Is there anything else you can give me, Mrs. Knyazev?"
"Call me Alexis, and everything is in that file," she answered.
"Alright, I'll see what I can. Let me show you out,"
I walked her over to the door and opened it, she turned around and me a card before leaving the apartment.
"Here's my number... it's for if you need information, not because I want you to have my number... we just met," Alexis said very awkwardly.
"I know what it's for, it's a business card," I replied.
She walked down the hall to the elevator, outside were my shitty neighbors. One was a fat, gay nigger, and the other two looked like Scooby-Doo and Shaggy. Once Alexis entered the elevator I looked at everyone out in the hall.
"What the fuck are y'all looking at?!" I yelled.
The Scooby-Doo niggas walks back into their apartment.
"You're mean," the fat one said.
I flipped him off and walked back into my apartment.

I shot up, groaned, and went back down. I looked next to me, Kacy was still asleep. Usually she's up by now, since it is a work day for her.
I tossed my covers off and put my feet on the ground. I grabbed my knee brace and buckled it on. I looked at my chest, it was wrapped in bandages. I attempted stand up, then I fell back on the bed. When I shook the bed, it woke Kacy up.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," she replied, sitting up. "You shouldn't be up."
"I'm fine... really," I said.
Kacy grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back to the bed. "I'll go get breakfast, you stay here."
She got up from the bed and grabbed her pair of pants on the floor and put them on. I leaned back in the bed and closed my eyes. I breathed in through my nose, but I smelt something off. Toxic waste.
"What the fuck?" I mumbled.
"You had a great time last night," K giggled.
He was sitting in the corner of the room, grinning.
"Did you fuck her last night?!" I asked.
"Hell no, I ain't that evil," he responded.
"Well, what the fuck did you do, and why do I smell like toxic waste?" I asked.
"Check the news, I'm sure it's all over the place," he snickered.
Oh no, what the fuck did he do.
"Kacy! Turn on the news!" I yelled.
It took her minute, but eventually she walked into the room. I put my goggled on so I could watch the TV, but then I noticed her hair. It was significantly shorter, it was down to her chin, and it had silver highlights in it.
"What-what's... your hair?" I stuttered.
"You like it?" she asked.
"Um, yeah. Can you turn the news on?" I asked.
The remote was on the nightstand on her side of the bed, so she has to get it. That's how it works here in the Grubb household. She walked over to her stand and picked up the remote and turned on the news.
Sure enough, they were talking about what K did.
"-this footage is very graphic, viewer discretion is advised," the news woman said. Followed by a video of me killing a bunch of goons, then destroying a bad of chemicals, which spilled all over me.
"Holy shit," Kacy mumbled.
I looked to K, who was laughing his ass off like a fucking crazy person. "What have you done?"
"The better question is *giggle* what have you done!!!" he yelled before bursting out into laughter.
"That's not me Kacy," I said.
She was staring at the TV in horror.
"Obviously, if that was, you'd be dead right now. That much toxic waste should've killed anyone anywhere near it," she said.
"No, that's my body, but he was in control!" I said.
"W-wait... he can do that?" Kacy asked. "Wait! That's you?!" she yelled.
"I didn't know he was going to-"
"Get up! Now!"
I did as she said.
"Goggles, display vitals," Kacy said.
A projection of my body shot out of the goggles. I didn't know they could do that.
"Scan radiation levels,"
"Zero radiation," the goggles replied.
"Oh thank god," Kacy said, pushing through the hologram and hugging me.
"Do you not remember last night?" she asked.
"N-no," I responded.
"Okay, well, we can fix this. You just have to convince the cops that a pretender dressed as The Vigilantee did that. And since he got drilled with all that toxic waste, everyone believes he's dead. If you show up, it'll prove that their are tow different Vigilantee's," Kacy explained.
"Okay, okay," I mumbled.
"You need to rest, lay down,"
Merci pour la lecture!
