Icy

Once warm and bright, a person so dear

But now she's cold, and her heart's austere

Her warmth has faded, like a dying ember

And her heart, once tender, is now a cold dissembler

She used to laugh, and her eyes would shine

But now they're dull, as if they've lost their divine

Her words were sweet, once upon a time

But now they're sharp, like a knife of crime

What could have caused this icy change?

What could have made her turn so strange?

Perhaps a wound that never healed

Or a hurt that she could never shield

Now she walks alone, in her frozen state

Her heart, a solid block of hate

But deep inside, a spark remains

A glimmer of hope, that one day she'll be warm again.
