The Isle

I remember sailing to the Isle. I just left my village hoping for a new adventure, hoping for something new to experience. I had been sailing for hours when I dozed off. I just had a big supper and was getting tired from the food. While I slept, I had vivid dreams of an isle. It was abandoned, or so I thought. There was a young woman with brown hair just sitting on a rock. The rock had three markings on it that I could not make out. I drifted in and out of these dreams. Sometimes I'd be walking with this woman, or sometimes I would be on the beach next to the Stone. I woke up to a huge storm. I tried to guide the boat somewhere safe, but I crashed into jagged rocks and fell into the water. I tried to stay afloat the best I could, but I ended up losing consciousness when a huge wave hit me and pushed me under the sea. And I woke up on the beach. The sun was shining on my face in the sand-covered my clothes. I stood up and dusted myself off. I looked around To see if there was anything left of my boat, but it was gone. I was stranded on an island I had not been to before. Already walked around for what seemed like hours. I finally found a cave. It seemed familiar. I walked in and found a stone. It had three daggers carved into it. At that moment, I remembered my dream. Maybe this was the Isle that I had dreamed about. Maybe that young woman is here, and I'm not alone. I walked through the cave and passed the rock. I wandered through the dark cave until I saw the light. At the end of the cave Was an entrance to the most beautiful green forest I'd ever seen. I walked through the forest and found a soft pile of leaves to sleep on. I'd been walking for hours and needed to find food and shelter because it was getting dark. I found some berries and nuts. I had those for dinner, and I decided to lay down and go to sleep. I awoke the next morning to someone standing next to me. I opened my eyes and jumped up, and pulled my dagger. It was a young woman with brown hair and blue eyes. She was the woman I saw in my dreams! I had a feeling I would find her, and I was very excited to know that I was not alone on this island. "put your dagger down, silly!" She said with a smile. "I mean you no harm. My name is Ailia. I live on this island." I felt very foolish. I didn't mean to pull my dagger on her. It's just a habit when someone surprises me like that. I put it away and shook her hand. "Hello Ailia, my Orvin. I come from the Morwenna's Cove, a small island on the other side or Cordelia." I said. She smiled. She motioned for me to follow her, so I did. We walked up a steep hill And rested at a beautiful waterfall. "Are you the only one on this island?" She giggled. "yes and no." She said shyly. "I do have two sisters, Alina & Alona, but they aren't here at the moment." I was baffled and wanted to ask her more. Instead, I changed the subject. I asked her how old she was she told me she was 19. I was 19 also, so I was very excited. At least we had one thing in common. I asked her where was the rest of her family and she told me that they'd been gone for a while. I started to think she was a band in here, and she and her sisters are the only ones on this island. I asked her if she could show me more of this beautiful Isle, and she did. We wandered all over this magnificent place. We saw waterfalls. We saw beautiful birds, and we even saw a cave with beautiful gemstones inside. Ailia and I grew closer as the day went on. One night came, we made a bonfire on the beach and fell asleep in front of it. When I woke up in the morning, she was gone. I yelled for her, and she did not appear. After wandering the beach, I found her sitting on the Stone with three daggers carved into it. I asked her what was wrong and why she wasn't there when I woke up. She said that she was sad and needed to go for a walk. She pointed to the rock she was sitting on. And said, "this is my family, Stone. In it are the spirits of my family's ancestors. Sometimes I get sad and miss them. So I come here in the early morning and be with them." I felt bad for her. So I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her on the cheek. She looked at me with tears in her eyes and hugged me back. We walked around the Isle and foraged for berries and nuts. She didn't eat a lot, but I was starving, so I ate a whole bunch. Later that day, we decided to go for a swim and went back to the waterfall and swam for what seemed like hours. We finally got out in the water, rested on some rocks, and dried in the sun. She came close to me and lay in my arms. She gave me a big kiss on the lips. At that moment, I knew I loved her. We spent days together. We ate together. We swam together. We did everything together. But there were days when she would not feel well and needed to rest a lot. I was getting worried because I loved her so much and didn't want anything happening to her. One morning I woke up, and she was gone. I was a little worried, but I knew where to find her. Oh, I found her at her family Stone. She looked at me with tears in her eyes and told me she needed to tell me something and that she needed me to follow her to the top of the mountain. I followed her and tried to talk to me but she wouldn't. We finally got to the top of the mountain, where trees and bright lights shone through the trees. She looked at me sadly and said, "Orvin, I love you with all my heart. There's something I need to tell you. I am a spirit. I am not here in mortal form. I have been dead for 400 years. I died when I was 19 when an enemy island came and attacked. My sisters and I were the only ones to survive when we were attacked again. our spirits are stuck on this island. And the reason I appear to you is to tell you the history of my people and help to teach people against these violent ways." I looked at her in shock. I didn't believe it. I could hold her. I could kiss her. How is she in spirit? She walked towards me and held my hands. I know this is hard to believe, dear Orvin, but it is true. This light will take me back to the Elysian Forest With my sisters. I need to tell you these important things before I go. My name is Ailia Leana, Daughter of Ludo Chief of Ciarans. Our island was attacked by an enemy island early one morning. We used our magic and weapons to defend ourselves, but we failed. Many of us were killed. Someone tried to flee to higher ground but was captured. We do not know what happened to those Ciarans. All that was left for my two sisters and me was a second attack thrown at us. My sisters and I did our best to survive, but my two sisters died in my arms, and I died of injuries later. Orvin, My love, please take this message back to the other kingdoms. We were peaceful people and were not a threat to anybody. Anything our enemy wanted, we would have given to them willingly." I looked at her with tears in my eyes. I loved her. But I knew our time was coming to an end. I walked up to her and gave her one final kiss. Within seconds two girls that looked like her came out of the light. She looked at me and smiled. "These are my sisters, and it is time for me to go. I will always remember you, Orvin." Then she was gone, and she disappeared into the light. I collapsed to my knees and cried. I was stuck on this island forever by myself. I walked down the mountain through the cave where I first found myself on this island. I looked around. To my surprise, there was my boat. Without hesitation, I got on the boat and sailed away. This island had no name, but it would forever be Ailia's Isle to me. Years went by, and I never forgot about the Isle. I got married, had children, was widowed, and had grandchildren. I told them the stories of my time on the Isle. Maybe one day, when I am in the Elysian Forest, I will see her again.
